Job Title:         Emergent Bilingual Facilitator                                        Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Reports to:      Federal Programs Director

Dept./School: Special Programs 

 

Primary Purpose:

 

Provide supplemental in-class and pull-out support for ESL students.  Collaborate with district staff and outside personnel to provide educational opportunities for ESL students.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree

Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsement in ESL

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to interpret data

Knowledge of curriculum and instruction

Knowledge of strategies and materials for the education of ESL/EB students

Knowledge of Texas Teachers Evaluation Support System (T-TESS)

Knowledge of LPAC
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Bilingual Preferred

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

 

Program Management

 

  1. Provide support for ESL students through pull-out and in-class interventions.

 

  1. Support teachers and campus administration in developming, revising, and aligning student coursework, including accommodations in ways that improve student outcomes with campus and district goals.

 

  1. Develop and conduct or arrange for staff development sessions, including sessions on various instruction methods, and enriched learning in classroom settings.

   

     4. Complies and submits a variety of weekly, monthly and year-end reports as required.

 

  1. Work with administration and ESL team in evaluation of the ESL program and implement changes based on the findings.

 

     6. Provide guidance/assistance to campus LPAC committes and assist with the identification of new Emergent Bilingual                Students.

 

 

Consultation

  1. Provide resources and materials to support staff in accomplishing program

 

  1. Consult with parents, administrators, counselors, teachers, community agencies, and other relevant individuals regarding ESL

 

 

Budget and Inventory

 

  1. Assist with the selection and purchase of supplemental equipment and supplies for the ESL program.

 

Policy, Reports, and Law

  1. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.

 

  1. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy.
